Medium to large-sized arboreal tarantula with an olive to bronze carapace and dark legs with subtle striping.
The abdomen often has a faint pattern or color variation, but is typically more muted than in other Psalmopoeus species.
Less vibrant than P. irminia or P. cambridgei, but still elegant and striking in natural light.
Temperament:
Fast, skittish, and defensive if cornered.
Will readily threat pose or bolt when disturbed.
Not suitable for handling due to speed and unpredictability.
Enclosure Tips:
Provide a vertically oriented enclosure with ample climbing space and a cork bark hide.
Webbing is common around the hide and enclosure walls.
Moderate humidity (65–75%) with good ventilation; temps around 75–80°F (24–27°C).
Notes:
Less common in the hobby than other Psalmopoeus species.
No urticating hairs, like all Psalmopoeus, but can deliver a painful bite.
Excellent eater and fast-growing, ideal for keepers with some experience in arboreal species.
