Appearance:

  • Medium to large-sized arboreal tarantula with an olive to bronze carapace and dark legs with subtle striping.

  • The abdomen often has a faint pattern or color variation, but is typically more muted than in other Psalmopoeus species.

  • Less vibrant than P. irminia or P. cambridgei, but still elegant and striking in natural light.

Temperament:

  • Fast, skittish, and defensive if cornered.

  • Will readily threat pose or bolt when disturbed.

  • Not suitable for handling due to speed and unpredictability.

Enclosure Tips:

  • Provide a vertically oriented enclosure with ample climbing space and a cork bark hide.

  • Webbing is common around the hide and enclosure walls.

  • Moderate humidity (65–75%) with good ventilation; temps around 75–80°F (24–27°C).

Notes:

  • Less common in the hobby than other Psalmopoeus species.

  • No urticating hairs, like all Psalmopoeus, but can deliver a painful bite.

  • Excellent eater and fast-growing, ideal for keepers with some experience in arboreal species.
